Mascon was awarded the balcony restoration project at 235 South Street with a scope that included Through slab repairs, Top of slab repairs, soffit repairs, and new installation of pedestrian coatings.

Although this was the original scope of work a bigger issue came into play structurally. Alongside the help of Roney Engineering Services, the building engineering consultant on the project, they developed a Post and Beam solution to support all 25 slabs.

Each beam was carefully placed into the supporting block wall with steel columns that sat on the original foundation. Turnaround time to resolve the structural issue was imperative with owners already being locked out of their million dollar view for more than a year.
